Moon Over Te Awamutu

Just the other night, the moon began to rise over the mountains behind our house.
I quickly ran to get my camera. Just missed it coming from behind the mountains, as it rises fast! this is what I managed to get though...

Tania and Blair : Engagement shoot.

Tania and Blair - 18.7.2009

On location. Demolition Site. Cambridge Road, Te Awamutu.

Tania and Blair asked me to come up with a location that was a little grimy, dirty, with lots of textures. In my mind I was thinking 'Building Site'. I had been searching around for quite some time when I drove past a derelict site and thought. Perfect! It was an abandoned building in amongst wild grasses. Broken windows galore...it had an interesting look that I thought Tania and Blair would really like. The day of the shoot was approaching and low and behold. Demolition was about to begin. Darn it!... however, all was not lost.

We rescheduled the shoot for the following weekend and I met with the site manager during the week explaining the purpose of my visit. All was cool and we got permission to go on site, on the proviso that we be extremely cautious... No problemo...

Come the day of the shoot, the buildings that were there were now gone! Just a shell of the largest building was all that remained! The demolition guys had really been working fast! Turns out, it was just right for us...That little bit of variety, not too spoilt for choice, does get you thinking on your toes...

Well, the proof is in the photos and I have to say I think they came out well. We had a really fun time on location during this shoot. The sun came out at just the right time and although Tania was a little camera shy, but with a little encouragement she soon got into it. Towards the end of the session that cold winter wind did start to get the better of us though!

All the best to Tania and Blair. You were a great and fun couple to hang with.

ps|studio will be shooting their wedding this November.
